11 Questions About The Dominique Strauss-Kahn Affair

Posted May 16, 2011

  1. Why the Sofitel? It’s in Times Square, and is fine as far as that goes, but the Ritz Carlton is on the park and even more expensive. You would think that if one were the head of the IMF one would abuse one’s expense account at a much more ostentatious level.
  2. Did M. Strauss-Kahn even consider the Four Seasons on 57th, which reputedly has some very hot and expensive talent at the bar, particularly on weekends? Or did M. Strauss-Kahn choose a hotel in Times Square because it was more consistent with his standing as a major Socialist?
  3. Why was M. Strauss-Kahn arrested in such a rude fashion? Didn’t he have a chance to buy his way out of this situation?
  4. Why are people shocked at the alleged behavior? Have they never been to the Comedie Francaise, where horny old satyrs chase their victims from chambre to chambre with ample screams and slamming of doors? Is it possible that the theatrical French archetype had so pervaded the consciousness of this international financial mogul that it warped his judgment?
  5. Come to think of it, what is a leader of the Socialist Party of his country doing at the head of the International Monetary Fund? Isn’t that a position that should be occupied by a Capitalist?
  6. Why does it take a major gaffe like this one to bring other accusers into the light of day? “As the impact of Mr. Strauss-Kahn’s predicament hit home,” writes the NY Times, “others, including some in the news media, began to reveal accounts, long suppressed or anonymous, of what they called Mr. Strauss-Kahn’s previously predatory behavior toward women and his aggressive sexual pursuit of them, from students and journalists to subordinates.” Isn’t there a TMZ in France?
  7. How is M. Strauss-Kahn’s behavior different than that of Silvio Berlusconi? It’s worse, of course. But why? Use a separate sheet of paper if you’re a Berlusconi supporter, or one of his former companions who is now in the Italian Parliament.
  8. What steps should M. Strauss-Kahn take to battle the taint of the charges of attempted rape, engaging in an illegal sexual act, and an attempt to sequester another person against her will? Is a comeback possible? NB: Eliot Spitzer aggressively prosecuted individuals for sexual crimes of which he himself was guilty, abusing his office and flagrantly disgracing himself. Yet he has frequently been seen in recent days lunching at Michael’s Restaurant, a highly public spot patronized by very respectable media people, laughing and backslapping with other famous types and being congratulated on his cable television show. People are talking again about his political future. Why not M. Strauss-Kahn?
  9. M. Strauss-Kahn has engaged Benjamin Brafman, the attorney who has represented Michael Jackson and Diddy. Does this sound like a wise selection?
  10. M. Strauss-Kahn reportedly has voluntarily submitted to a DNA test. Why would he do such a thing? Doesn’t the sheer fact that one was requested by the Authorities make you feel kind of queasy?
  11. Will any of this interrupt the important work now being done by the International Monetary Fund? Why not?

  1. From what the news media expressed about Elliot Spitzer and his exploits with hookers, it seems obvious he paid to get laid. exactly how much? Only Elliot knows for sure.

Strauss-Kahn; however, is typical of a financial guru. He’s out to screw everybody and anybody he can for free. How much will they jack up interst rates on credit cards to pay for his failed trist?

Thanks to Strauss-Kahn the stugatz made the headlines, again. Viva Viagra!

  2. Did this happen on a Sunday? Perhaps Mr. Socialist moneybags missed the Sofitel’s lovely brunch.

I am only speculating based on the victuals here at their Miami facility.

I only hope that he did not go on the alleged attack screaming, “Let them eat maid.” An obvious lapse not only in judgment but certainly also in taste.

  3. (Reuters) – “French Socialist politicians voiced outrage on Tuesday at the parading of IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn handcuffed and unshaven in the United States before he has a chance to defend himself on charges of attempted rape.”

The more outrage voiced by French Socialist politicians, the more I smile.

  4. “The ten passions of ancient Rome”

    1. Binge drinking 2. Getting naked 3. Grand designs 4. The older woman 5. The younger man 6. Song and dance 7. violence 8. collecting 9. Food 10. The danger of pleasure.

The difference between ancient times and today seems to be the increased societal disciplines of today as opposed to the permissive nature of ancient times.

Problem is, the stugatz on the prowl is not discreet and has no conscience, the local hooker knows for sure.

  5. I still feel the most shocking element of this story is that it involves a bona fide act of French aggression.

*The standard disclaimers regarding violence against women being not funny apply.

  6. The only answer I can think of is that they must have some really hot maid uniforms at Sofitel.

Just imagine the planning required, if this was really a set-up, like S-K’s supporters in France claim. And we think that there are conspiracy theorists in this country.

  7. Et vive la France ! Come to think of it, would you, or any one else, spend your last minutes in the Hotel chasing around a maid, who should not have been there, in the first place ? Power, more than money, is aphrodisiac enough for you to have an affair with no tomorrow. I don’t think Dominique is that dumb as to take such a risk. But then again, she may have been the Hottentot Venus…

  8. I read in an article that a grand jury plans on charging her with attempted murder after her criminal trial is over because she didn’t inform Stauss Kahn she was HIV to stop him from making advancements and prevent him from getting infected.

  9. 1. He’s French, wanted to be President, flew Air France.

    7. Of course a person’s private life has nothing with his/her abilities to do the public job. We’ve learned that from the Europeans.
