A reader from Massachusetts writes: It sounded sweet in the interview, but it is a total bust. I go around Boston Medical Center asking patients lame questions about drug/alcohol use, and then when I know what their needs are I have little to refer them to, and tell the ward social worker that the patient has needs. They already know this and thought the MASBIRT program would bring new services on line with the $14 million dollars in federal grant money, but it does little except supply CDC with raw, and often, inaccurate data. Good pay, nice benefits when some yoobo in Human Resources finally does their jobs but the corporate mantra at Boston Medical Center is "Do it on line." and "That's not my problem." All in all a hostile work environment full of angry people.
