I used to work for a now bankrupt airline in Philadelphia. We were having trouble getting a cargo door to stay closed for a flight that was already running late. Our supervisor came over and asked what the problem was. We explained the issue and suggested calling a mechanic. His response, "We are already running late, just tape it shut." Needless to say, we overruled him and called a mechanic . . .

Nah, the boss' job was to get the plane in the air ASAP. From his viewpoint, the complainers will have to suffer much at his hands to teach them who the boss really is from here on out.
